Purpose of the Role/Role Overview:
An opportunity for an IT professional to get into a full-time Network Support role, which will be responsible for designing, installing and maintaining digital communication networks for customers of the this MSP organisation. The duties include establishing wireless networks, developing digital communication networks and improving cyber-security, which will give the Network Support person the chance to develop further skills in network and cyber security technologies.
Skills and Qualifications- Network skills across on-premises and cloud-based technologies
- A good knowledge of network security, best practices, and technologies.
- LAN and WAN technologies and protocols.
- MPLS, Routing (BGP, OSPF), VRF.
- SD-WAN and relevant connectivity knowledge.
- Creation of Firewall rules and policies
- Firewalls, Cisco ASA and PaloAlto, Watchguard
Desirable Skills- CISCO (LAN, MAN, WAN): Cisco Switches and Routers IOS.
- EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRFs, QOS, routing, switching.
- Internet/IPSEC VPN.
- Experience in supporting MPLS and SD-Wan Technologies
- Any Cisco certifications - CCNA - CCNP - useful
Some flexibility will be required according to business needs.
Usual office hours will on rotational shift pattern to meet technical support operating periods:-
Shift 1
Monday 08:00 - 16:45
Tuesday to Thursday 08:00-16:30
Friday 08:00-16:00
Shift 2
Monday 9:15 - 18:00
Tuesday to Thursday 09:30 - 18:00
Friday 09:00-17:00
These may be varied with reasonable notice and in response to changes in support needs.
If you are out of the office for the day, we would expect you to be on site working at the above times
On-Call
As part of our support service the IT teams provides limited out of hours remote cover for customers.
The job holder will be expected to support the team by also being on the on-call rota.
The hours of cover that the team provide are:-
Monday to Friday 07:00 – 22:00
Weekends 10:00 – 16:00
