Job Title: Systems Support / Systems Administrator

My client a world class research consultancy are looking to recruit a Systems Support Analyst / Systems Administrator to be part of an operations team helping to support and facilitate different projects for the development team, as well as ensuring the maintenance and administration of the infrastructure.
Essential Experience- In depth knowledge and experience of Linux Server OS - experience installing and supporting Linux based servers
- Understanding of SCM and familiarity with git
- Knowledge and experience of shell scripting [Bash, Born, Korn, etc]
- Experience of creating and maintaining documentation on systems configuration and operations, detailing routine system administrative tasks such as restoring services from backup
- Experience with MySQL database server [or drop-in replacements]
- A comprehensive understanding of internet security and awareness of typical vulnerabilities
- A positive, proactive attitude and self-motivation to research new solutions independently for new and existing IT tasks
- Experience of Linux server Active Directory integration
- Ability to response effectively under pressure
- An understanding of data protection regulations such as GDPR
Desirable:- Linux certifications
- Cloud certification
- University degree in a computer-related or a science subject
