Role:         Head of User Experience

Location:  Remote based - with some travel to offices in the UK and NI

Skills:        People Management, User Experience (UX), Software Products 

THE ROLE:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a UX professional to join a market-leading software provider, whose products are used by millions across the globe! This is an exciting chance for the UX leader to shape and lead the product UX team, developing the UX strategy/roadmap, and building the team in terms of recruitment, following significant investment by the company into this space. . 

This role is ideal for a natural leader, who enjoys coaching/developing a team, able to get the most out of a talented team who must work creatively under pressure to deliver for the wider business. 

Your background will be in a UX environment, ideally having worked for a software provider, and managing a UX team/function. You will have full managerial responsibilities for the team and overall responsibility for the UX function.

What you will be doing

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • The development and delivery of a UX strategy that matches the ambition of the business to provide excellent products.
  • High-level coordination of the UX team; managing and leading people on a daily basis, spread across multiple geographies.
  • The review of existing processes/practices - looking at ways to improve ways of working to the benefit of the team, and the business. 
  • Working with colleagues across the business to create an excellent overall product experience - including product purchase, implementation, training, support etc.
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of what they need on a technical level
  • Mentoring team members
  • Establishing a unified UX and UI across all products
Who we are looking for

The successful candidate will demonstrate: 

  • A proven track record in UX, ideally for a software provider.
  • Strong leadership skills, with previous experience leading a UX team.
  • Communication skills - You will be able to develop relationships with your team, internal and external stakeholders
  • Influencing capability:  You will be a strong influencer who is able to promote a research-based approach to design decisions and to take a wide range of opinion holders with you. This includes speaking with, and convincing, the executive team
This Head of UX position is ideal for a motivated, articulate professional who can provide clear direction for the team, and business.  Most importantly, you’ll be an experienced people manager, clear on your style and approach in engaging creative professionals to deliver exceptional design solutions, whilst staying true to UX principles.

The role is remote based, however, you will need to travel to offices from time-to-time, to meet with team members and other leaders within the business.
