Role Profile:  IT End User Support Engineer
Location:       Remote Based (UK Coverage)

Position: 

My client is  recruiting for 2nd line desktop support professionals to be part of their end user support team, assisting in the delivery of excellent, cost effective IT end user services across mulltiple locations nationwide.

The role requires a working knowledge of a broad set of end user technologies including (but not limited to) Windows client OS and software, hardware, infrastructure and platforms, desktop and application virtualisation technologies, Microsoft Office Software, image building and deployment technologies, programming and application deployment, Mobile Device Management, cloud services, active directory, LAN/WAN, WLAN and remote access technologies. 

The ideal candidate will be strongly motivated to deliver and promote the highest levels of service for all customers, internal and external and have a keen sense for industry trends and emerging technologies seeking opportunities to further improve employee productivity and satisfaction. 

Responsibilities for the end user (IT Support) Engineer include:

  • Undertake typical break fix and support activities on all end user related infrastructure, both on-site and remotely, as required including general maintenance and system upgrades
  • Support the delivery of services within agreed timescales and in accordance with SLAs
  • Deliver the highest levels of support to central infrastructure and other business critical systems
  • Support the delivery of major projects and change programmes
  • Manage the installation, support and maintenance of production systems to completion
  • Take ownership of incidents ensuring coordination of resolving parties, effective communication to stakeholders and where needed, post incident review
Key experience required for the end user (IT Support) Engineer:

  • 3 years experience in an end user desktop support role, delivering support across multiple locations
  • Experience supporting technologies such as, group policy, Windows 7/10, Physical hardware, Active Directory, Office 365, Mobile Device Management, Desktop/Application virtualisation, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN & Windows networking (DHCP & DNC)
  • Good experience in vendor patching and patching technologies (Microsoft, 3rd party) 
  • Microsoft certifications - Desirable
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure services - Azure/AWS
  • Excellent customer service skills
The end user (IT Support) Engineer will be someone who thrives on delivering excellent service to end users. You will be part of a team that takes ownership of issues reported, providing updates to the users on a regular basis, and seeing the issue through to resolution. You will have the opportunity to be involved in project work, as well as BAU tasks, being able to learn and develop new skills.
