Location: Hybrid (Northampton)
Duration: 6 Months Initially

About the Role:
My client is looking for a skilled and strategic Cloud FinOps Lead to join their team on a contract basis. You will play a pivotal role in creating and managing a FinOps roadmap that drives accountability, collaboration, and cost optimization based on business value. This position requires you to work closely with Engineering, Operations, and Finance teams to develop and implement a high-level FinOps strategy across our business.
Key Responsibilities:- Create and manage a FinOps roadmap that ensures accountability, collaboration, and cost optimization.
- Recommend the maturity requirements for the FinOps practice within iPSL, informing the target FinOps operating model.
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Finance to develop and evolve a comprehensive FinOps strategy.
- Implement processes and policies to align the FinOps practice with the FinOps framework and iPSL’s business policies and governance.
- Deliver capabilities in the following domains:
- Understanding Cloud Usage & Cost
- Quantifying Business Value
- Optimizing Cloud Usage & Cost
- Managing the FinOps Practice
- Previous experience in setting up and embedding a FinOps practice within a business.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly at the Senior Executive level.
- Good knowledge of FinOps tooling products.
- Demonstrable experience in a Cloud FinOps or Cloud spend role within a large professional environment.
- Strong understanding of public cloud providers (e.g., Azure), their product portfolios, and commercial models.
- Advanced knowledge of Azure cloud services and billing semantics.
- Experience working in a regulated environment.
- Understanding of key drivers, concepts, and language used by Finance, Procurement, Service Management, and Technology teams.
- Proven experience managing multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
