Great opportunity for an infrastructure engineer to come on board and help the business deliver their solutions to customers. The solutions will be on Cloud Infrastructure or the customers own infrastructure, so candidates will be responsible for the design, provision and maintenance of the companies systems, using VMWare cloud. You will also be expected to assist with customer infrastructure setup, troubleshooting issues that arise and providing suitable fixes.
The companies cloud systems are deployed on both Linux and Windows servers, so previous experience with Linux servers is essential for this position. Candidates must have good communication skills in both team and client settings.
Key Responsibilities for the Cloud Infrastructure Engineer include- Design, provision and maintain in-house VMWare and VMWare cloud infrastructure.
- Responsible for the continuous improvement of VMWare cloud infrastructure
- Create/enhance DevOps processes for customer on-premise and cloud based services.
- Advise and assist clients that are using on-premise VMWare infrastructure.
- Configure and manage in-house and cloud-based Windows and Linux servers.
Essential experience required for the Cloud Infrastructure Engineer- Virtualization (VMWare/VMWare Cloud)
- Linux Server administration
- Network administration – Firewall/ Proxy Server/IPSEC configuration
- Experienced at dealing with customers to understand infrastructure requirements
- Scripting experience - desirable
- Database Administration (Microsoft SQL Server) - desirable
This is a full-time, permanent, position that offers fully remote working. You are welcome to attend the office if you are local enough, but this is not essential. My client offers a great opportunity to help them progress their solutions from an infrastructure/cloud perspective. You will get the chance to look into new technologies to help them improve their offerings to customers, bringing new ideas to the table.
