Job title: Agile Project Release Manager

Reporting to: Director Software Development

Location: Home-based

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000pa + Benefits

The Position

My client is recruiting for a brand new role in the business, to assist the Director of Software Development by taking ownership of the Project Release Management tasks. Working closely with the developers, product owners and testers split into cross-functional teams (known as squads), the Release Manager will be responsible for the scheduling and delivery of projects for customers. You will perform a range of tasks from Release Management, Project Management and Line Management, having to report on project progress to senior management, and dealing with any issues within the teams and ensuring their continued development as the business strives to grow. 

As an experienced Project/Release Manager, you will be experienced at working in an Agile environment, and be an advocate for the business in adopting Agile methodologies across the squads. You will have a strong focus on introducing techniques that enable predictable estimation of work, measure progress, and metrics allowing us to improve efficiency. Your role will also see you line manager a couple of the squads, performing line management administration duties. 

 

The Person

The Project Release Manager will have:

  • Previous experience in Release Management working for a software provider
  • A thorough appreciation of Agile principles and practical considerations of tools and techniques.
  • Project Management experience
  • A good understanding of technology and the software development lifecycle
  • Experienced at leading projects in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Line management experience
THis is a remote based role, with limited travel expected in the role (1-2 times a quarter). Whilst you can work remotely, you are welcome to use any of the sites for face-to-face meetings, conferences if you feel there is a need to do so.
