A fantastic opportunity to join a global organisation as part of the DevOps team has become available for DevOps Engineer. The DevOps Engineer will be passionate about technology, always looking to learn new skills and not be afraid by technologies he hasn't had exposure to.

The role is responsible for the build of the CI/CD pipeline across applications for the business, always looking at ways to improve the offerings. You will play a key role in the software release cycle, offering support to the business from a DevOps perspective and troubleshooting incidents reported as part of that release.

Further responsibilities for the DevOps Engineer include:

  • The Implementation of solutions to proactively monitor applications for the business
  • Provide 3rd and 4th line application support to business users, customers, partners and suppliers.
  • Contribute to the planning of application releases and configuration management.
  • Explore and evaluate new technologies in line with DevOps.
  • Participate in the Agile DevOps design, development, testing and release of new capabilities and features, with a focus on release and post-production support
Key experience required for the DevOps Engineer includes:

  • Previous experience in a DevOps environment, working on applications
  • Experience of build, deployment and release management
  • Technical knowledge of cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud (please note my client is working with Azure)
  • Experience with middleware and web server technologies
  • Experience with Application Monitoring and Event Management (NagiosXI, Elastic Stack, Splunk)
  • Understanding of virtualisation such as VMWare
This role will be heavily involved in the companies migration to Azure. The business will be looking for more automation, so scripting skills will be a major advantage. My client isn't fussy about the technical background of the candidate matching their current technology stack, but wants someone who will be willing to learn new technical skills. You will be a problem solver, happy to go the extra mile to find the answers using various resources.

The role will be a mix of remote and office based (1-2 days a week in the office).
