Exciting opportunity for an expert cloud engineer who is keen to be the subject matter expert for the business, as they migrate from on-premise to the cloud. The Cloud Engineer will lead, design, technically manage and be accountable for the migration, reporting directly to the head of infrastructure, and project teams.
The role will work closely with the network and infrastructure teams, with an on-premise dedicated network engineer being part of the project team. You will lead best practices and look for ways to continuously improve the cloud solutions for the business.
Key Responsibilities include:- Accountable for managing the design, documenting, and implementing network infrastructure for a cloud-based and hybrid network solution.
- Accountable for managing the migration of on premise Network Infrastructure to a cloud-based and hybrid network solution.
- Responsible for building compelling business cases for cloud based solutions and effectively presenting these to Executive Management level.
- Responsible for the design, creation of tooling and automation to continuously improve the monitoring, management and reliability of the clients network infrastructure.
- Responsible for embedding industry best practice and automation of manual legacy processes into the Network team.
- Maintain currency with prevailing and future technologies and have the ability to communicate and introduce the latest technology, and technology best practice into the client.
- Providing 24x7 support to the on premise Network Infrastructure and (SAAS/IAAS) cloud based infrastructure once implemented.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:- Excellent knowledge of Cloud Network Technologies – Automation, Security & Reporting (Azure/AWS)
- Excellent experience in the migration from on premise to a Cloud based solution.
- Excellent knowledge of Network Virtualisation.
- Good knowledge of VMWare & Microsoft Technologies.
- Excellent at building relationships across a wide variety of groups
- Tactical and commercial awareness
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Leads on own initiative with little direction
- Quality oriented attitude
- Ability to build, share and present compelling business case
