Role:        Test Engineer

Role Summary:

My client is a global leader in AI and Motion Capture solutions, and are looking for talented Test Engineers to join their growing test team.  Reporting to the Test Manager the Test Engineers will take the lead in the testing of the highly complex systems developed, using a range of manual and automated approaches.

You will have responsibility for the planning and execution of hands on software and hardware testing, including specification validation, bug and feature testing and regression testing.  We have a large custom-built Test Volume in which to test all our products, and you will sometimes need to act as a motion capture subject during testing, as well as maintaining the equipment in the test space.

You should be able to work autonomously and deliver in-line with the product plans whilst working collaboratively with the wider team environment.  

 

Strong candidates will have: 

  • Hands on experience testing both software and hardware
  • Strong exploratory testing skills
  • The ability to write relevant and effective test cases
  • Familiarity with best practices in software QA
  • Tenacity in identifying underlying root causes of problems
Minimum Requirements:

  • BSc in Computer Science, Physical Sciences, Engineering or another related field
  • 2+ years’ relevant experience as a Test Engineer, with a background in software / hardware development
  • Experience testing hardware specific desktop applications
  • Proficient in test management tools (TestRail preferred) and in defect management tools (Jira preferred). 
  • Possess strong knowledge of Agile testing methodologies and best practices 
The role will be office based once allowed, as there will be hardware testing in the role. The company works with exciting technology and products though and the exposure to these areas will a fantastic opportunity for any candidate interested in this field.
